Refined Scope of the Newsletter

Until now I’ve used Substack as a sounding board for most of my creative work — heavily focused on The End Is Trending these last few months. With production turning a corner and new projects underway, I’ve refocused the Substack on Khepri and its films. Still from my perspective as founder, still in the room where it happens, but the lens is now the studio and the slate.

Thanks for sticking with me. Some real stuff just around the corner.

This Substack is for our advocates and brain trust. I will continue to treat this place as a personal production diary for you. You’ll get all of the shenanigans, pitfalls, successes, misgivings, challenges, and celebrations. It is more than just “behind the scenes” it’s the room where it happens.

We are up against a crumbling industry, a billionaire class that wants to replace human imperfection with robots, and an economy that’s actively hostile to artists. To do this work we need help, shoulders to cry on, and advocates to help us navigate these times and get to people who want to experience good stories.

Subscribing means you’ve signed onto the work of helping an indie studio succeed. When fundraising time comes for our projects we’ll ask you to chip in, spread the word, and help us find our way through gatekeepers. When production is under way we’ll ask you to cheer the cast and crew on, revel in the experience, and amplify our social media activity. When movies are released we’ll ask you to watch and share, hype us up, and come to our offline and online events.
